Headmaster’s Newsletter – 27 January 2017

Dear Parents,

Wednesday saw a very successful Betjeman Prize evening in Founders’ Hall. We are grateful to Dr. Joseph Spence, Master of Dulwich College who adjudicated and gave such thorough, supportive feedback and advice to every performer. We were treated to a wide range of performance styles and sizes of group. Congratulations to all who took part. Here is the list of prizewinners.

  • Outstanding Vocal Performance – Arabella Scanlon
  • Outstanding Physical Performance – Lulu Catizone, Alice Bunting, Lana Logan, Bianca Marquis
  • Outstanding Characterisation – Alexander Selvadurai
  • Outstanding Vocal Clarity – Katya Lacorzana and Bianca Marquis
  • Outstanding Ensemble Performance – Arabella Scanlon, Chloe Francini, Chloe Robinson, Michalis Macropoulos, Gabriel Gurdjian, Amandine Bourrier and Clara Hall
  • Outstanding Overall Performance – Arabella Scanlon

There are no showcases this coming week as Parents’ Evenings get under way in earnest. The Senior School evenings are in Founders’ Hall and all other evenings take place in the relevant building with displays of work starting at 5.30pm. A reminder of the dates for the evenings before Half Term:

  • Hans classes – Tuesday 31 January
  • Senior School – Wednesday 1 February (SS1, SS2 and SS3 first Glion trip)
  • Kings classes –  Thursday 2 February
  • Radnor classes – Tuesday 7 February
  • York classes – Thursday 9 February

The second Winter course of Transitus girls left for Glion on Wednesday and have been enjoying more good weather. The first group of Senior School boys will be going out next Thursday.
