Headmaster’s Newsletter – 11 May 2018

Dear Parents,

This coming Wednesday, 16 May we will be having the annual year group photographs. Please make sure that all pupils come to school smartly turned out. They must be wearing a cravat (except Small and Lower School), v-neck jumper and well-polished shoes. If you are going to take this as an opportunity to replace any uniform that has either worn out or is now too small I would like to remind you of two things. Firstly, uniform is only available from Billings & Edmonds: no other retailer is authorised to sell Hill House uniform. Secondly, please ensure all uniform is clearly named. Uniform is lost every day and if it is not named it is impossible to return it. Please also check your child has gone home wearing their own clothes. Coats are particularly prone to going home on the wrong back. If you do find someone else’s uniform at home please bring it back and hand it in to a member of staff. The owner will be very grateful.

There will be a secondhand uniform sale this Tuesday, 15 May in Cadogan Gardens.

This weekend the St. Cecilia Singers are in Glion for some performances. They will be singing at St John’s, Territet on Sunday morning and in the evening they will be performing a mix of songs and drama. They return on Monday evening and will be reprising their concert in Founders’ Hall on Wednesday at 6pm. All welcome.

The Upper School Book Fair is in Cadogan Gardens for the next two weeks. All parents in Upper School should have received an email with information about this earlier today.

The Minister at St. Columba’s has asked me to pass on his thanks for your generosity in the collection for Christian Aid at the end of Assembly. As has been said before the money raised this year is being channeled towards the efforts to help Haiti after their recent series of natural disasters.

Details of all trips, fixtures and showcases can be found on the calendar of the website.

Best wishes,

Richard Townend
