Although only a short week because of the Bank Holiday there has been a great deal squeezed into the past four days. There has been a trip for Small School, fixtures in Rounders and Cricket, three showcases, year group photographs, a drama course in Glion, not to mention the regular timetable.
The arts are a particular strength of Hill House and we are lucky to have both dedicated specialist staff and facilities and to help all our pupils uncover their talents whatever they may be. Every evening this week there has been a concert given by pupils in Founders’ Hall (Violins on Tuesday, Woodwind on Wednesday and Guitars on Thursday). Our Drama Scholars are in Switzerland for five days preparing for a performance this weekend. Lower School have been studying Pointillism in Art and have created some beautiful work which you can see here. Remember that these children are only five and six years old.
Next week our celebrated Brass Consort will be traveling to Belgium for two concerts and when the drama teachers have returned from Switzerland rehearsals for the Transitus musical, “Annie”, accompanied by live orchestra, will be in full swing. Looking further ahead both the Choral Scholars and the St. Cecilia singers will be performing abroad this term and we have the Summer Art Exhibition to look forward to.
The week ahead is filled with sports fixtures and music showcases, details of which can been found in the Calendar section of the website.
