Headmaster’s Newsletter – 5 October 2018

Dear Parents,

This week the pupils in Lower and Middle School had their Athletics Day at the Duke of York’s. The newly elected House Captains helped with the running of the event. Here they are with the top runners in Lower School and Middle School.

Also this week the Middle School visited the Florence Nightingale Museum as part of their History Topic. They learnt that there are many differences to nursing in the present day compared to how it was in the past. They were able to dress up in nurses’ uniforms, past & present and discovered how herbs and spices were used for medicine.

Thank you for the generous donations to our annual Harvest collection for The Upper Room. The van had to come back for a second trip as it was so full. I know they will be very grateful.

Individual and class photographs have now been completed. Details of how to view and purchase these will be sent home in a couple of weeks time.

There will be a secondhand uniform sale in Cadogan Gardens this coming Tuesday. See the flyer for details. We have had a lot of donations but sadly some of it is not in good enough condition to sell. If you are thinking of donating uniform please think first if you would be happy with its condition.

The final Parent and Tutor Social evening is this Tuesday for parents of children in the Sixth Form. I very much look forward to seeing many of you there.

The first Parents’ Evenings are this coming week. Upper Transitus on Wednesday and Upper Senior School on Thursday. Separate notification has been send out about these.

Best wishes,

Richard Townend
