Headmaster’s Newsletter – 2 October 2020

Dear Parents,

The NHS provides an annual Flu vaccination for all primary school children, – that is from Reception to Year 6. This year it will take place on Thursday 5 November and is carried out by a team of nurses sent to us by the NHS. A letter from our school nurses will be sent out on Monday along with more details and a consent form that needs to be returned for every pupil. The NHS requires notification of either yes or no to ensure nobody is missed out in error and so that they know how many are actively not taking up the offer.

Billings & Edmonds will be coming to Founders’ Hall on Saturday 17 October to set up their regular pop-up shop in preparation for the change into winter uniform after Half Term. To ensure Covid security they will run an appointment system. Please follow the link below to book your slot.

While we have been unable to hold our weekly Assembly in the Scottish Church the time has been used in many different creative ways. This week, under the guidance of Miss Nwume, boys and girls in Transitus filled the Churchill Room with tessellations.

Although we are unable have our regular Wednesday Assembly in the Scottish Church we will still be having our Harvest collection for The Upper Room. We have been supporting this charity for many years and your donations are always gratefully received. If you would like to find out more about their work in feeding the homeless please visit their website

Please bring any donations you may want to give on Friday 16 October by 8.30am. Unfortunately we will not be able to accept any donations that come in after this time. Below you will find a list of the items that they would like, and perhaps more importantly, would not like to receive.

Last Friday you will all have received an email from Mr Carlson entitled ‘Google Classroom’ with details of how to set up the login to your child’s classes for this year. Please ensure you have completed this. There is also a link to a questionnaire about you and your child’s experience of our online provision during lockdown. If you haven’t completed this yet we would be grateful of you could take a few minutes to do so.

Best wishes,
