'A child’s mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.'

We believe in a broad based curriculum that kindles children’s curiosity. We are passionate about music, art and drama as a way for young people to explore and discover their world. At Hill House all children sing and perform, taking part in the community life of our school while developing their sense of self belief.

Our school environment is happy and purposeful, fostering a strong sense of belonging. Children are supported by Senior Tutors who take special responsibility for the wellbeing of the boys and girls and provide the main link between the school and parents.

At Hill House our large sports department is run by dedicated, full time coaches. All children take part in daily physical activity and swim each week. We encourage children to trial new activities, increase fitness and play in team sports.

Specialist teaching

At Hill House academic subjects are taught by highly qualified and motivated teachers complemented by a music staff of twenty six specialist instrumental and choral teachers. There are twenty specialist sports instructors, many of whom are international team members. Painting, drawing and design all flourish in a strong Art Department led by expert staff.

Parents considering Hill House for their child are invited to visit the school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday mornings at 8.30 am during term time. Please complete our pre-registration form and we can then arrange a suitable date for an individual tour. We look forward to meeting you.
